We are really proud of two of our fantastic performance band players who played with the BP Renegades in their amazing winning performance at Trinidad Panorama 2018.
Alice and Jenny flew over to Trinidad on the 1st February for an intensive week of rehearsals with the Renegades. Jenny, one of two of our bands musical direction team has been competing in Trinidad Panorama for several years and supported Alice in her first time playing and visiting Trinidad.
Our players were lucky enough to play an arrangement by Duvone Stewart, a young Tobagonian arranger who took the Renegades to their first Panorama win in 21 years with Voice’s ‘Year For Love’.
Now our players are back we have celebrated their achievement with a showing of their winning performance at our first rehearsal back since half term. We caught up with Alice who said “I had the most amazing experience and learnt so much from a band of very talented musicians. It was hard work but so thrilling – I just want to do it all over again!”
We hope all of our young players are inspired to go explore the world of pan!
